Yacht Wedding Styled Shoot

Ya'll,  I have been holding out a big secret... and bursting to share more details about this inspirational Nautical Style Shoot project with you ...and today is finally the day! Grab your coffee and take in all this gorgeousness.

How romantic to get married on the water...well now you can here in central Arkansas!   Just because weddings are smaller, they can actually be most memorable when planned on a yacht! This was our inspiration come to life behind the Style Shoot.

Our nautical themed style shoot from a group of A+ vendors  included the over abundant talent of Justin Hoadley of Tanarah Lux Floral and photographed by the watchful eye of Lori Sparkman. The bride and groom enjoyed the Magnolia Hill private yacht "Happy Times" that is now open for weddings, which is a venue like no other with so many picturesque backdrops. Rocktown River Outfitters led the charge and piloted the boat to the most perfect sunset location on the Arkansas River. The city's lighted bridges and skyline was the one of a kind backdrop to the shoot. As New Englanders know the waterfront such as Martha's Vineyard is prime real estate when it comes to a timeless wedding...here we have it in the middle of our city!

Our bride  was pampered by the amazing make up artist, Jamie Lynn Jones  , and wore a beautiful gown  from The Bridal Cottage Patticakes Bakery showcased a stunning nautical inspired cake.

Timeless calligraphy and paper goods were created by Honor Canon of Our Scripted LifeA feast for the eyes of charcuterie boards on the cozy deck were handcrafted by Vibrant Occasions Catering.

Take a peek at all the loveliness and become inspired to plan your own small nautical wedding, but big on style. If  you have pulled together your guest list, enjoy the fun part of planning by adding in personal touches for an unforgettable, intimate wedding on a yacht!  Small weddings can be over the moon and most memorable for everyone.

Of course we love it when you leave a comment!

Enjoy the Fourth !

President Harry S. Truman was known for his down to earth style. He once said, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."  Independence Day is the perfect time time to take his advice and move family gatherings out of the kitchen, to the porch and patio.  We celebrate our fourth with a family favorite Dallas Dip, hamburgers on the grill and peach tea....simple and delicious.

One of our summer favorites here at Magnolia Hill is Dallas Dip. If you like the flavors from the south of the border, you will love this easy recipe !  Make it ahead and let the flavors marry to taste even better and save time for enjoying your guests.
It is hard to get everyone together and I treasure the gatherings.

Dallas Dip

6 Large ripe tomatoes, diced and chopped
12 green onions, thinly sliced
2 cans green chilies
2 large cucumbers, peeled, diced, and chopped
2 Tablespoons garlic salt
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 Tablespoons olive oil

Combine all ingredients and let chill in refrigerator overnight.  Serve
with tortilla chips.

Happy Fourth of July everyone!

Southern Style Flavors to Wow Your Wedding Guests

After the first of the year, we are all into wedding planning with our brides for the year. And we have made it easy, for exclusive to Magnolia Hill is our award winning caterer, Dinner's Ready  !
They are on the leading edge of what is happening in the wedding world
as they played host to the Arkansas Democrat Bridal Fair as a leading sponsor.

Wedding blogs such as The Knot released what they see in trends on wedding reception offerings..."the sit-down dinner is starting to be replaced with more interactive options. Set up stations that feature your favorite eats, like a raw bar with a waiter live-shucking oysters or wine and cheese pairings with an on-site sommelier. If you don’t want to forgo a plated dinner, host a cool cocktail hour and serve the main meal family style for a twist on tradition."

And you may have seen Serge as he regularly makes everyone hungry on KARK morning show! KARK TV featuring Chef Serge preparing some  favorite dishes on air.
Make sure you are not hungry when you read this...for your mouth will be watering after you see the pictures of their delicious creations.

For the grooms table, Razorback cupcakes !
and for a main course....Buffet style or plated

Sometimes mini versions of your favorite desserts
make even more of a statement than their full-sized counterparts.

The active stations are not only delicious, but fun to watch the chef cook right in front of the guests.
Appeal to guests’ lighter sides by putting a few delicious good-for-you options on the menu. This heirloom tomato & basil salad is mouthwatering beautiful.
A little drama with an active station of Bananas Foster
Your home-cooked favorites are instantly elevated when served in unexpected ways, like these grilled cheese points served with dainty tomato soup shooters.
An abundant buffet is a great way to ensure everyone gets what they want, but it also creates an appetizing focal point. One tasty buffet option is a cheese station with an array of mild and strong flavors, different textures, and cheeses made with goat, cow, and sheep milk. Add labels so guests know what they’re diving into, then pair them with breads, fruits, and nuts.
 Beautiful presentations
An appetizer display on the hay wagon. A little netting keeps early nibblers away, yet still looks exciting  while the wedding ceremony is going on !
Stuffed zucchini boats

For any  Southern specialty,  Serge puts the finishing touch for perfection!

Look at these cute sunflower cupcakes complete with a ladybug.

Now I bet I have made you hungry!
